Fire'z Off Flame Retardant -
The Class 'A' Fire Retardant you simply spray on and let dry!

Has the Fire Marshal said you need to have something treated with flame retardant?

Fire'z Off is an environmentally-friendly fire retardant spray, which is used to retard fire in most absorbent materials, such as wood, drapes, wall hangings, furniture, boxes and packing materials, fabrics and uniforms, even construction materials like framing, roof decking and cedar shakes. It's perfect for schools, daycares, eldercare, restaurants, hospitals and more.

Fire'z Off is very easy to apply. Just spray it on and let dry. You can use a quart sprayer, garden sprayer, backpack sprayer, even commercial spraying/painting equipment. You can also dip fabrics, wring them out and let air dry. You must get the material wet for maximum effectiveness, but the product is non-staining. Just keep a record of when you treated the material, along with the MSDS and Fire'z Off Product Sheet, and you should be in good standing with the fire marshals. We can provide you with the necessary forms and documentation to keep on file.

There is no single product that is effective in every circumstance. You are welcome to call us with any questions. Always check with your fire marshal first to see if he will accept Fire'z Off for your application.

Unlike many products on the market today, it is specially formulated to be non-toxic, with no PBDE's, neurotoxins or VOC's that can cause long-term damage to humans or the environment.

Tested according to ASTM E84 standards by SGS US Testing, Fire'z Off is rated Class 'A' for flame spread and smoke developement on building materials. It has also passed the tests for NFPA 701 for flame spread propagation of textiles and film.

Fire'z Off is safe enough that it can be applied while people are present. It will remain effective until it is washed out. When used on construction materials and covered with a topcoat sealer (required when used outdoors and exposed to the elements), it is effective as long as the paint or sealer is in place. Always test a small sample with combination of retardant and sealer to be sure of effecrtiveness.

The Problem with Other Retardants...

Polybrominated diphenyl ethers, or PBDE's, are commonly used as fire retardants as well as in manufacturing of building materials, electronics, furnishings, plastics and textiles. But since the 1990's, scientists have questioned the safety of PBDE's because they accumulate in the body, and are not passed through as waste. People are exposed to low-levels of PBDE's through ingestion of food and by inhalation. PBDEs bioaccumulate in blood, breast milk, and fat tissues. People are also exposed to these chemicals in their domestic environment because of their prevalence in common household items.
